Clair Tappaan Lodge Day ski tour
Level: Advanced Beginner

Here is your chance to start the ski season with a great trip for advanced beginners. There is a separate day ski on the day before.  Both depart from the Sierra Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge, near Norden, CA. 

On Sunday, we will meet in the living room at Clair Tappaan Lodge at 9:30 AM, then venture into advanced beginner-level backcountry terrain close by, probably departing from one of the nearby California Sno-Parks; a Sno-Park permit is required for parking.

Please do not sign up for this trip if you have never skied before.

The Clair Tappaan Lodge has ski gear rentals on-site.

You may make your own lodging arrangements or drive up for the day. This is a day trip that starts and ends at Clair Tappaan Lodge each day. I suggest staying at the Lodge (530-426-3632) http://clairtappaanlodge.com the previous night.  CTL cost is ~$165 for one night of lodging for Sierra Club members per person. Cancellation policy is 30 days. A meal plan can be purchased separately for breakfast, bag lunch, and dinner each day.

Please complete the Sierra Club Local Outing medical form and send it to the leader (mrjohncordes@gmail.com) as part of registering for this trip. There is also a Participant Agreement and Waiver that can be completed on-line through this web page.  For more information about the trip, contact the leader.  If you want to qualify as an STS trip leader, you can begin by learning to be an assistant leader on this trip.
