There's a chance of rain. If NWS Los Altos predicts more than 0.10 " of rain, the hike will be cancelled. Otherwise, it's on! Foothills Nature Preserve (11799 Page Mill Rd, Los Altos Hills). $6/vehicle, credit card or cash.Interpretive Center is one mile from Foothills kiosk. After Boronda left veer left. Flush toilets and water at meeting place.Hike description: (5 miles, 300 ft climb) From the Interpretive Center, we'll stay in the shade of oak, madrone, and laurel as we climb Coyote trail. At Panorama trail, we'll see more wildflowers. Lunch at Boronda Lake picnic tables. Partially shaded Chamise trail back to Interpretive Center.Animals: turkeys, black-tailed deer, songbirds.Bring: Lunch and water.
