Calling all high school and college-aged youth: Join the Idaho Climate Justice League (Idaho Sierra Club's youth activist team) for an Intro to Art Activism Workshop!
Art activism, or protest art, combines the creative power of the arts to move us emotionally with the strategic planning of activism necessary to bring about change. In this workshop, learn about the history of art activism and why it’s such an effective form of protest. Hear from youth in the Idaho Climate Justice League who just completed a year-long community mural project celebrating community solar. Then, folks will have the chance to think creatively about how you could use art in the future to take action about a cause you're passionate about, and/or even begin to create protest art themselves! All high school and college-aged youth that align with our values are welcome to join our group & this event!
All supplies will be provided, as well as FREE PIZZA and beverages!
This event is the third in a series! As the school year ramps up, we will be hosting the following events for local youth to learn organizing tools to fight back against threats to our communities & planet, get some volunteer/community service hours, and HAVE FUN with other youth that are passionate about climate justice.
