Eve Samples serves as executive director of Friends of the Everglades. a 501-c-3 non-profit and vice-president of the Rivers Coalition Board of Directors.
She is a 20-year veteran of the newsprint industry, as a reporter at the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette and Palm Beach Post, an opinion-editor at Florida USA TODAY and Treasure Coast Newspapers and received the 2026 Everglades Coalition Conservationist of the Year award and the 2018 League of Women Voters of Martin County Susan B. Anthony Award.
Eve earned her B.A. in Journalism at the University of North Carolina.
