O: Morro Bay State Park Campout

Come join us on our series of explorations of California State Parks.Camp four nights, Tuesday-Saturday, at Morro Bay State Park. See the best of the California's Central Coast, from giant Morro Rock to pygmy oak trees. Enjoy the areas rugged landscape, formed largely from volcanic forces. We will offer leader led easy and moderate hikes daily to all the local areas. There are saltwater marshes that support a thriving bird population, volcanic peaks Black Hill & Cerro Cabrillo, the Museum of Natural History and much more are all within the park boundaries.Morro Bay has moderate weather. Summer days are often 30 degrees cooler than inland areas. The charming community of Morrow Bay is located 1.5 miles to the north of our campground and offers gas stations, grocery stores, dining and more.The Morro Bay State Park Group Campground offersfire pits, grills, picnic tables, flush toilets, a drinking water spigot, camp host, and showers located just steps from our secluded group campsite. There is a large meadow for tent sites located away from the main campground.Send $115 with Sierra Club #, $130 non members (Check payable Sierra Club) toReservationist:Donna Specht, 22221 Wood Island Lane, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. Additional Directions: Trip letter and instructions sent prior to event. Call the leaders if you have any questions.

Carpool: For those needing a ride, a carpool list will be sent prior to event. No checks cashed until ride is confirmed.

Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.
