John is a Professor of Forestry and the Director of Land Stewardship at Principia College, where has been working on the 2,600-acre campus since 2010.

Powerful Trees: How Trees Improve the Environment Join us on October 13 at the Old Bakery Beer Company where Dr. John Lovseth will explain how trees impact the environment--including the ones in your backyard. John is a Professor of Forestry and the Director of Land Stewardship at Principia College, where has been working on the 2,600-acre campus since 2010. He was a founding member and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Great Rivers Prescribed Burn Association. While on sabbatical in 2025, he spent a year living in the north of England, studying land use practices in highly contested landscapes.Do you have any questions about forests, the history of forests in our region, or your own trees? Bring them and ask John!
