Our Gulf, Our Whale Beach Cleanup and Action Day🐋☀️
Join Sierra Club Florida, community partners, and fellow ocean lovers for a fun, meaningful day at the beach celebrating the Gulf’s most endangered resident, the Rice’s whale, the only year-round resident whale, and the waters we all share.
In recognition of one of the rarest whales on Earth and the ongoing fight to protect our Gulf, we’re coming together at the shore for a mix of sun, community, and action. We’ll kick things off with a beach cleanup to remove litter and harmful marine debris, followed by a lively banner day to raise awareness and show our collective voice for a healthy Gulf.
The threats to Rice’s whales and every other endangered species in the Gulf are numerous and growing every day under the Trump Administration. Floridians have fought offshore drilling before—because we knew our wildlife, waters, and way of life were at stake—and have won. Now is the time to show up again for the future of our Gulf, the Rice’s Whale, and our coastal communities.
Here is what to expect if you sign up to volunteer or want to join us at the beach:
