SF Wildlife Refuge – Song Sparrow Spur Trail (Front Country)

The Song Sparrow Spur Trail is a newer all-weather path located along Pond A2W in the Alviso unit of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, featuring two small bridges and offering open views of South Bay waters and local marsh wildlife. The trail starts at the border of Shoreline Park with the San Francisco Wildlife Refuge and can be reached by hiking on Shoreline Park trails for a little less than a mile. The spur trail goes for 1.2 miles to some benches and signs about the shorebirds. We will have a rest and eat trail snacks at the benches then retrace our steps back to Shoreline Park for a total hike of four miles.
