The Sierra Club strongly opposes offshore drilling in California. We believe that offshore drilling poses significant environmental risks, including the potential for oil spills, pollution, and considerable harm to marine life and coastal ecosystems. In light of these dangers, Sierra Sage advocates for the protection of California’s coastline.

Join us to learn how The Surfrider Foundation is actively working to stop offshore drilling in California through grassroots advocacy, public education, and policy engagement. They organize local campaigns and encourage community members to participate in public comment periods, ensuring that their voices are heard.

Our speaker is Michaela Coats, Southern California Regional Manager with the Surfrider Foundation, whose work in collaboration with other environmental organizations to influence legislation is aimed at preserving ocean health.
