Join us on this beautiful leisurely paced, easy walk along the Semiahmoo Spit loop trail (3 miles round trip, <50 feet elevation gain). We will start at Semiahmoo Park (near the Totem Pole), and follow a mostly paved trail to the end of the spit and back. Clear days have amazing views of Olympics and Northern Cascades, including Mt Baker. The Semiahmoo Park trail parallels Semiahmoo Parkway, from the parking lot until we reach the marina at the end of the Spit. With Semiahmoo Bay on one side of the Spit and Drayton Harbor on the other, we'll have beautiful views of the shoreline. Restrooms (gender-specific, multi-stall) are located near the parking lot. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.

Directions from Bellingham: Take I-5 North to Peace Portal Drive in Blaine (exit 274 to Semiahmoo). Turn right on Peace Portal Drive, and then take a sharp left onto WA-548 South (Bell Road, which turns into Blaine Road). Continue to Drayton Harbor Road and turn right. Go to Semiahmoo Parkway and turn right. Continue for 0.5 mile, and then turn left into the Semiahmoo Park parking area.

Carpools must be self-organized, but those interested in carpooling are encouraged to meet at the Sunset Square Safeway parking lot at 12:15pm. Carpool drivers and passengers are advised that the Sierra Club assumes no liability for carpools and that carpooling, ride sharing or anything similar is strictly a personal arrangement among the participants
