The Power of Native Plants: How can we create a more welcoming habitat for birds, butterflies and bees? The key is understanding what native plants are, why they are essential to insects, and the vital importance of these relationships to a healthy, functioning ecosystem. Learn simple steps you can take to support biodiversity in your home landscape.

Carol is a co-leader of the Central Coastal Plain Chapter of the NC Native Plant Society. She is a Master Gardener in Carteret County and has completed numerous on-line courses, including those focusing on natural garden design and creating eco-friendly habitat at home.  She is currently working towards obtaining the “Certificate in Native Plants” through the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill.  Carol also serves with the Coastal Landscapes Initiative, a public-private collaboration, led by NC Sea Grant, whose aim is to increase the use of native plants in community and individual properties, through public outreach and education.

Non-members are welcome!
