Come join the Sierra Club Adventure Seekers, a group for young professionals to gather and adventure together. For our first hike we will join for a mid morning exploration of the Window Cliffs Trail. This hike offers 9 creek crossings (one way) and it is an out and back trail so you'll pass them twice. There are cables up on most crossings making them easier. You will need good shoes you can hike and cross water in, hiking poles are optional but helpful. The trail is 5.3 miles in total and has 662 ft of loss and gain, during this time we will pass a waterfall, the creek many times and an overlook of window cliffs. The trail ascends to beautiful views at the top of the cliffs. This hike can be moderate- difficult due to the water crossings as the rocks are slippery, there will obviously be expected humidity, heat and at the beginning /end there are a few switchbacks where you +/- 300ft. The group must stay together once the hike has started, if you decide to leave you will be asked to sign out. Porta pottys available at the trailhead.
This is the first of many hikes for this group, spread the word and bring a friend (everyone needs to sign up online)! After the hike we will be gathering in Cookeville for a post hike meal and revelry.
A medical waiver will be required due to the remote nature of this trip per Sierra Club policies. I will have them available to complete at the start of the hike (the hike leader will be the only one privy to this information). Please sign up online which is your RSVP and complete your release (a very easy process). You don't have to be a Sierra Club member to attend.
Water levels can vary depending on weather so any significant rain may cancel the trip. Text/ email for any questions.
