Decorated Canoe

Bring your decorated canoe, kayak or paddleboard and join Sierra Club and Friends of the Hillsborough River for the annual Holiday Boat Parade.  We will launch from the Lowry Park Boat Ramp just before sunset and paddle upstream to just north of the Bird St. Overpass, and then paddle back downstream to the Lowry Park Boat Ramp after dark.  

Pre-registration is required.  

LIFE JACKETS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES BY ALL PARTICIPANTS.

Level: Easy

Cost: Free

Bring: Bring your own boat. Battery operated lights for your vessel, water, lifejacket, whistle (required for your vessel), insect repellant, warm clothing, flashlight

Signup Restrictions: Participants must register in advance for all persons riding in their canoe or kayak and each person must sign the Sierra Club Waiver

Additional Directions: Launch from the Lowry Park Boat Ramp just prior to sunset (approximately 5:35 PM); Arrive in time to decorate your vessel and prepare your boat for launch. In the past, there have been as many as 200 participants, so plan accordingly
