Saturday, August 24, Outings Leader Training: Interested in becoming a certified Sierra Club outings leader and lead local outings? The first step in that journey is to successfully complete Outings Leader Training. This is a one day course that will provide you with the foundational information you need to lead safe, fun and inspiring outings such as hikes, bike rides, snowshoe or ski outings and ambles. You don't have to be a super outdoors person or an expert in ecology, either. Or, if you are a currently certified outings leader and have not yet received the new curriculum or it's been approximately four years since you last attended this course, you should also join us. This course will be conducted virtually. and all persons that register will be required to download the instruction packet which includes the training materials, handouts and reference materials and those will be available along with a link, about one week before the course begin date. Register no later than August 20 at the link provided below. Note that this particular training will provide some additional focus on risk management in the desert and mountain west including high altitude outings. Course begins at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time and will end at approximately 4 p.m. Mountain Time.
