Full Moon Snowshoe Hike on Sandia Crest.

Saturday, Dec 18: Full Moon Snowshoe Hike on Sandia Crest. Crisp night air and the reflection of the moons rays onto glistening snow. Meet at 5 p.m. at the Sandia Crest parking lot. This three-hour long outing is approximately 2.5 miles round trip with 150 feet of elevation gain. Well depart from the Sandia crest parking lot and proceed along the crest trail with several stops to enjoy stunning views all the way to the continental divide. Well cover tips for safely traversing on snowshoes and winter hiking. If theres insufficient snow, we this will be a full moon hike. Sponsored by the Military Outdoors Program and everyone is welcome. Appropriate for children over 14 with parent or legal guardian. No dogs, please. Cost: $3 amenity fee or national parks pass to park at the crest. There is no other charge for this outing.

Signup Instructions: Sign-up at the link provided.

Bring: Snowshoes, trekking poles, water, snacks, backpack. Recommended gear list will be provided approximately one week before the outing.

Signup Restrictions: Appropriate for children over 14 with parent or legal guardian. No dogs, please.

Carpool: Carpooling is always encouraged but do so safely.

Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.

Cancellation Policy: Sustained temperatures below 10 degreee F or winds in excess of 20 MPH, may result in the outing being cancelled.
