Join the South Sound Group for a combined In-Person plus Zoom meeting of local environmental activists about local, State and National environmental issues. Come in-person to the Olympia Community Center, 222 Columbia St NW, Olympia, WA 98501. We host a Meet&Greet at 5:30-6:00 pm. Parking is free on nearby streets and City Parking Lots after 5:00 pm. Program begins at 6:00 pm. Join in via Zoom at that time.

Wait, can that be recycled?
Are you confused about what items are accepted in curbside recycling bins? Hope Springer, Thurston County’s Recycling & Waste Reduction Specialist, will answer your questions. Bring a bag of commonly confusing waste items you would like to know the recycling status of and Hope will be there to provide the answers.
Thurston Solid Waste operates the only solid waste disposal facilities in Thurston County, and provides important tools for waste reduction to our communities.
Speaker:
Hope Springer, Recycling and Waste Reduction Specialist, Thurston County Solid Waste.
Hope is from Tacoma, and recently moved back to Washington after earning her master's degree in Environmental Sciences & Management at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo where she also worked as a Life Cycle Analysis Researcher and Sustainability Outreach Coordinator. When not working, Hope enjoys all things outdoors, making jewelry, and baking desserts.
