Climate Action Team Meeting
Team members are committed to promoting global warming awareness and taking action to reduce carbon emissions that are driving it. We are volunteers working in Southern California for clean air, water and energy in order to protect the planet and the health of our children and all our community members, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the Climate Action Team of the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter is to educate and inspire our members and the general public in Los Angeles and Orange County to know and engage with climate change issues. WHAT WE DO: We organize public forums and presentations on clean energy technologies and the connections between public health and the degradation of clean air and water by climate change related drought, fire, emissions and sea level rise. We advocate and support climate action planning and its implementation by local cities. We work for clean energy, expanded renewable energy choices for the grid, zero waste and sustainable agricultural practices, as well as advocating for local and national government policies and systems that limit carbon emissions.
