A three part presentation and discussion of all:
  • What is meant by the term "Zero Waste"? In municipal policy, in Sierra Club, in our homes.
  • Micro and especially nano-plastics disturb various tissues in the body including neurons and even genes, and physiological stress responses in the body.  Cognition and behavior of organisms are being changed.  Updated methods to measure nanoplastics show that they transport chemicals and pathogens, and that fetuses and children are at particular risk.  Economic costs of plastics and their chemicals are rising.  We will end by considering some ways to protect ourselves and our children in our daily lives.  We will review bills in the PA General Assembly that would regulate plastics and their associated chemicals..
  • What smart choices can we make to avoid plastic packaging?
