O: Classic Adventure: Turkey

Join us for this 17 day, 15 night adventure in Turkey to experience the culture, historic sites, and beautiful sights of this exotic land. Our trip will take us to 16 UNESCO world heritage sites in Turkey including many important historic places. We will spend a few days in Istanbul visiting Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, Hagahia Sophia, Hippodrome, Dolmabahce Palace, Grand Bazaar, Spice Market and more. We will visit the ancient city ruins of Troy. Next it is the ancient Greek city of Pergamon which was the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon and the northernmost of the seven churches of Asia cited in the New Testament Book of Revelation. We will also visit the old Greek city of Ephesus, noted in ancient times for famous architecture and was a recipient city of one of the Pauline epistles and one of the seven churches of Asia addressed in the Book of Revelation. The ancient Greek city of Aphrodisias is another site that we will visit along with nearby Hierapolis and the beautiful Pamukkale travertine terraces deposited by mineral water from the hot springs. Next you will see the ancient city of Sagalassos which has been an important city over the millennia. We will spend four nights in Cappadocia where we will visit the interesting formations and underground cities in this area. You will have a free day in Cappadocia to explore and tour on your own. You will see the ancient Hittite capital in Bogazkale which is contained in Hattusas National Park. We will also visit petroglyphs in the area. We will also visit the UNESCO world heritage site city of Safranbolu where we will also visit with a Turkish family. We will return to Istanbul, where we will do some additional sightseeing before heading home. Price includes, 15 nights lodging (2 Persons, 2 beds per room) in three and four star hotels, transportation within Turkey, Admission to sightseeing places, many meals, and more. Does not include airfare. The price is $3,650 until January 31 and $3,800 starting February 1 unless fills earlier. Non-members $100 more. Single supplement is $975. We will not cash your checks until after Dec. 31.
