We at the North Star Chapter believe that addressing the climate crisis requires more than technological advancements and policy shifts. It demands a profound transformation in how we interact with the Earth and each other. To this end, we are committed to advancing our work through a degrowth lens and directly tackling the root causes of climate change: unrestrained resource extraction and consumerism. This team is exploring how we can prioritize ecological sustainability, social justice, and well-being over a colonial mindset and the relentless pursuit of economic growth. We are challenging the notion that perpetual economic expansion in a capitalist system is compatible with environmental preservation and social justice.

The November 18 meeting will be a hybrid meeting, both at our St. Paul office and via Zoom.

The team generally meets on the third Monday of the month, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Please RSVP.

The official meeting starts at 6:30 pm; you can log on at 6:00 to socialize.
