O: Morro Bay State Park Campout

Come join us on our series of explorations of Arizona and California State Parks. Last year we visited Anza Borrego Desert State Park and Arizona State Parks while camping in Sedona. This year, we are including the iconic Morro Bay State Park. Camp for five nights, Monday-Saturday, at Morro Bay State Park. See the best of the California's Central Coast, from giant Morro Rock to pygmy oak trees. Learn about the geology of the region with Professional Geologist, Jay Schneider. Enjoy the areas rugged landscape, formed largely from volcanic forces. We will offer leader led easy and moderate hikes daily to all the local areas. There are saltwater marshes that support a thriving bird population, volcanic peaks Black Hill & Cerro Cabrillo, the Museum of Natural History and much more are all within the park boundaries.Morro Bay has moderate weather. Summer days are often 30 degrees cooler than inland areas.The Morro Bay State Park Group Campground offersf ire pits, grills, picnic tables, flush toilets, a drinking water spigot, camp host, and showers located just steps from the campsite. The Morro Bay State Park Group Campground offers fire pits, grills, picnic tables, flush toilets, a drinking water spigot, camp host, and showers located just steps from the campsite.  There is a large meadow for tent sites located away from the main campground for quiet and privacy.

Carpool: For those needing a ride, a carpool list will be sent prior to event. No checks cashed until ride is confirmed.
