O: Lake Ediza Mule Pack.
The Agnew Meadows packers will carry up to 50 pounds per person of your gear while we hike separately with only our day packs.
Our entrance hike will begin early Sunday morning at the Agnew Meadows trailhead (8400') west of Mammoth Lakes. The hike is about 7 miles, initially downhill, then climbing steeply past beautiful Shadow Lake, continuing along the JMT and a well-established trail to Lake Ediza at 9265' elevation. The total elevation gain is 1250 feet. Lake Ediza is nestled below the Ritter Range with views of Mt Ritter and Banner Peak as well as of the spectacular Minarets, a series of jagged peaks in the Ritter Range.

After we set up our base camp, we will have four layover days to explore and enjoy an alpine paradise. Day-hike options include Nydiver Lakes (10,095'), Iceberg Lake (9,780'), Cecile Lake (10,243'), and Cabin Lake (9,567'). Fishing along Shadow Creek has been very good on past trips. Or you can just relax and enjoy the scenery at camp.
We will have happy hours every evening, with wine provided by the section, where participants bring appetizers, snacks, desserts, or munchies of their choice to share with the group.  We will also have a couple of planned group dinners. Other meals are individual responsibility.
This is a backcountry event which requires each participant to fill out a Medical Form. The form is not required for you to apply but will be required to go on the trip.
