Spring Hike at Lake Shenandoah County Park (Ocean Co.)

2-3 miles, easy pace, flat trail around the lake. Origin of the name Lake Shenandoah: The United States Navy dirigible USS Shenandoah was built in 1923 at Lakehurst Naval Air Station and first flew on September 4, 1923. There are 227 acres of towering oaks and pines surrounding the gorgeous trout-stocked lake, the focal point of the park. There are fishing piers and April 5th is the opening day of NJ trout season. Leashed dogs are welcome.
