The Sierra Club Moshannon Group has joined with the Mid State Trail Association to help maintain the trail from Jo Hayes Vista to Indian Steps.  Join us for our early spring trail maintenance on the Mid-State Trail.   We will meet at the Jo Hayes Vista Parking Lot where we will go over all the details of our hike and clean-up.   We will have extra gloves and tools to carry for cutting and picking up branches.    During our spring walk, we will be looking for any fallen limbs or trees that are crossing the path.   We will clear what we can and take note of any fallen trees over the path that would need to be cleared by other means.   There is a lot of bending down to pick up debris.  This is a very rocky and rough ridge trail, so wearing good boots is highly encouraged.   This hike has great views, and we will stop at the intersection of the Mid-State Trail and Indian Steps Trail for a snack break.  This hike will be about 4 hours long, so please bring plenty of water and snacks.
There is no bathroom on this hike, only the woods.
