This St. Patrick’s Day, go green in more ways than one! Sierra Club, HEAL Utah, and Stewardship Utah are hosting a public comment workshop to support the Utah Renewable Communities (URC) program to move Utah communities toward net-100% renewable electricity by 2030.

During the event, we’ll share how the URC program can benefit your community,  and  help you write impactful public comments to the Utah Public Service Commission (PSC) urging them to approve Utah’s community renewable energy program.

Background:

Utah Renewable Communities is a partnership of 19 Utah towns, cities, and counties working with Rocky Mountain Power to design a new clean energy program. The program will give Rocky Mountain Power customers in participating areas the choice to supplement their current energy mix with additional clean energy at a minimal cost increase, up to net-100% by 2030. 

After nearly five years of collaboration with participating communities, Rocky Mountain Power has submitted a program application to the Public Service Commission (PSC). The PSC plays a critical role in reviewing and approving energy programs in Utah, including the Utah Renewable Communities program. Approval will  allow  the program to acquire new utility-scale renewable energy resources to serve hundreds of thousands of eligible Utahns in 19 communities. This is a major milestone, and the application is now under review! 

Take action and help ensure the PSC knows this program is a top priority for Utahns. Join us on March 17, either online or in person, to learn about this critical program and how you can submit comments to shape the future of clean energy in Utah.
