We Energies, the most profitable utility in the state, is pursuing projects to expand methane gas infrastructure via new gas plants and storage facilities. This includes a proposal to build a new 1,200 MW gas plant at the Oak Creek campus, locking us in to decades of additional fossil fuel use and negative health consequences while making customers pay for the $1.2 billon project. This comes while we're still paying the $2.3 billion price tag for the company’s Oak Creek “Power the Future” coal plant completed in 2011, the most expensive construction project in the history of the state, while shareholders earned about a 12.5% rate of return profit on that project.

Join the Power Wisconsin Forward campaign on March 20th at 6pm to learn more about what's going on, ask questions, and hear how you can get involved. A public input opportunity is coming up on Tuesday, March 25th, in person in Oak Creek with an option to join virtually. This meeting will help you prepare for that opportunity.
