I: Mt Bago (11,870')
Join us for an adventurous 3-day, strenuous trip starting out of Onion Valley over Kearsarge Pass to explore the Kearsarge Pass area and to summit SPS Mt. Bago! It's known as one of the best views in the Sierra with a terrific view down Kings Canyon to the west, Kearsarge Pass to the east, and towering peaks all around. Saturday morning we will hike in from Onion Valley over Kearsarge Pass to Charlotte Lake; 8.5 miles, 2,732' elevation gain. There we will set up our base camp and enjoy the lake. Sunday morning we will strap on our summit packs and climbBago (11,870) before returning to camp for a Sierra Club Happy Hour, 1.25 miles, 1,520' elevation. Monday morning we will break camp and hike out 6 miles, 1,428 elevation gain. For more information, please send recent backpacking experience and conditioning to the leaders.

Cost: $6 per person for permit cost
Signup Instructions: Email hiking resume to the leaders.
Bring: 10 Essentials and necessary gear for a cross-country outing.
Signup Restrictions: If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone who has recently (within the past 10 days) been sick from or tested positive for COVID-19, please do not join this trip. This is a Sierra Club Backcountry outing that requires everyone to submit a Medical Form prior to the start of the hike.
Carpool: Participants coordinate their own carpool.
Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.
