Hitchcock Nature Center Outing

Cost: $5 per person pay at the door

Join us for a fall outing at Hitchcock Nature Center during peak hawk migration season! Located in the heart of the Loess Hills, this crucial habitat area offers sweeping views, diverse wildlife, and a chance to learn from local experts.

What to Expect:

  • Guided hike featuring a hawk migration talk by park naturalists

  • Visit to the observation tower with hawkwatch biologists

  • Mini lunch & learn with Dr. Tom Rosburg at the scenic overlook

  • Explore moderate hiking trails

  • Discover the unique plants and animals of the Loess Hills

  • Your own lunch

  • Water and weather-appropriate hiking gear

Bonus: Close to DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge for optional exploration before or after the event (unguided).
