Palmetto Trail and Pitcher Plants Hike in the National Forest

Join us for a hike through the Palmetto Trail Swamp Fox Passage in the Francis Marion National Forest. We will meet at the Halfway Creek Trailhead and hike approximately 2 miles through longleaf pine forests to some Carolina Bay wetlands full of Yellow Pitcher Plants! The trail is relatively flat and the hike will be 4-5 miles all together. Depending on weather, another option would be to carpool from the trailhead approximately 1.5 miles down the road to another Carolina Bay with pitcher plants and returning to the trailhead to do a shorter hike on the trail.
