Lassen Volcanic National Park Camping Trip
Friday, August 8 ~ Monday, August 11, 2025

Registration opens Monday, July 7, 2025
Fee: $45 per person

Join us for 4 days and 3 nights of outdoor fun and adventure in Lassen Volcanic National Park.
Lassen is known for its volcanic history and diversity of plants and animals. It has 300 active volcanic domes, as well as many hydrothermal features, such as mud pots and steam vents. The park is at the junction of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Great Basin, providing many unique habitats.

We will set up camp at LOST CREEK GROUP CAMPGROUND (5,700’), about 5 miles from Manzanita Lake. This central location offers easy access to Summit Lakes, the Devastated Area and numerous trailheads for a variety of terrific hikes, such as Paradise Meadows, Bumpass Hell and Mt. Lassen Peak. We will offer hikes on Saturday and Sunday and have our famous potluck one night and sit by the propane fire pits every evening.

Our hikes will include some easy to the more demanding depending on our group. Our daily itinerary is not rigid and flexibility among participants will enhance our group experience. Nearby Manzanita Lake offers fishing (catch and release) and kayak rentals. We’ll bring our inflatable kayak for group use and possibly lead a group paddle on the lake.

We’ll have picnic tables, food lockers, drinking water, vault toilets and on-site parking for 6 vehicles. Close by comforts include showers, gas, and a general store at Manzanita Lake Resort.
- Pets are not allowed.
- All food and camping gear must be provided by each participant.
- Campers and converted vans are not permitted.
- Camping overnight with the group is required; you cannot leave to stay in a hotel and rejoin the group the next day.
- An additional park entrance fee of $30 or National Parks Pass is required.

Registration is first-come, first-serve. Participants limited to 16. Each participant must sign up individually by email. Upon receipt of your email and acceptance you will receive detailed correspondence including PayPal fee payment instructions.
