Sierra Club Service Trip And Picnic At Burke Lake Park, Va.

Enjoy the first day of June with a Sierra Club Service Trip and Picnic at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax County, Virginia. Teaming with the Sierra Club Great Falls Group, we will spend the morning picking up trash along the park's lakeshore trail before our picnic. The event also includes a discussion about preserving the trail canopy along the popular W&OD Trail between Arlington and Leesburg. Meet at 9AM at the Burke Lake Park Amphitheater and Picnic Shelter D Parking Lot. Leaders: Glenn Gillis and Ann Stanford. Special Guest: Susan Bonney.

Cost: The Sierra Club requests a $2 voluntary donation.

Bring: For trail work bring boots, trail snacks, water, and work gloves. Trash bags provided. For lunch bring cup, plate, and eating utensils. Food and beverages provided.

Additional Directions: Meet at 9AM at Burke Lake Park Amphitheater Parking Lot. After passing through the entrance gate bear left and park at the first parking lot on the right. To avoid the entrance fee for out of county residents inform the attendant that you are with the Sierra Club.
