Siler Bald hike from Winding Stair Gap on the A.T. trail west of Franklin, North Carolina. 5216 foot Siler Bald is cooler than mountain hikes in Georgia. Summer daytime temperatures still only reach the 60's and low 70's. Siler Bald has 360 degree views of the surrounding North Carolina mountains. We'll take a moderate pace including rest-stops at scenic points and lunch on top of Siler Bald. Total would 8.7 miles 1,880 feet elevation gain.
We estimate ~ 5.5 hours hiking (with rest stops) plus half hour lunch on Siler Bald.
