Join us for a hike in Cactus Flats near Big Bear, a beautiful area on the northern slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains, thick with Joshua Trees and other native plants. Hike will be approximately 5 miles, with elevation gain of about 600 feet. Trail descends initially and then a fairly steep climb to the mine (we will not enter the mine itself).

Those coming from the High Desert may meet by 8 a.m. at the southeast side of Jess Ranch Cinemark Theaters, on Jess Ranch Parkway, just south of Bear Valley Rd. Participants may organize their own carpools from there.

You may meet us at the trailhead at approximately 8:45 a.m. Trailhead is at the intersection of State Hwy 18 and Forest Route 3N62, approximately 3 miles north of Baldwin Summit, coordinates 34.321987, -116.818212.
