Sierra Club Santa Lucia Chapter: Hike + Dine Event

Time: 9:30 AM
Location: 3098 Oso Flaco Lake Road near Nipomo. Turn off Hwy 1 onto Oso Flaco Lake Road and drive thru agicultural fields to the end of the road and parking lot.

Join us for a scenic Hike + Dine adventure!

This is an easy hike of about 2 miles round trip and 50 ft. of elevation gain. The trail starts on an old road that was once used to access the Pismo Dunes OHV area. It crosses Oso Flaco Lake on a boardwalk and continues to the Pacific Ocean. There is an option to continue the walk south on the beach to the dunes themselves after crossing Oso Flaco Creek. This area is now closed to OHV use. The Nature Conservancy undertook the restoration of the dunes to their original site. Oso Flaco Lake is managed by California State Parks. There may be a fee to park in the parking lot. There is additional parking on the road outside the parking lot.

After the hike, we’ll dine together at Café Deville in Nipomo, located at 133 S Thompson Ave, Nipomo, CA 93444. This will be a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy a meal with fellow Sierra Club members after a morning of exploration.

Parking:
Day use fees are $5 per vehicle.in the designated parking lot. Additional parking is available on the road outside the lot.

Distance: 2.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 50 feet
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Flat trails and boardwalk

We’ll gather in the parking lot near the trailhead at 9:30 a.m. for a brief introduction before hitting the trail.

Dress in layers
Bring 3 liters of water, snacks, a hat, and sturdy shoes
Rain cancels the event
No dogs
