JUST SCHEDULED! TROUT CREEK PADDLE

6795 Collier Road, St. Augustine, Florida
(Trout Creek Community Center)
DATE: THURSDAY, JUNE 6TH, 2025
9AM - 11AM

Details:  This is an easy paddle on a quiet, partially shaded creek, along old hardwood and pine forests.  It's suitable for a novice paddler that has or has access to a kayak.  The time out on the water will only be two hours due to the temperatures.  This area of Trout Creek has an abundance of fishing hunting and weekend cottages - some are relics from the past!  There is no cost for this outing.
Participants must have a personal Float Device (PFD) and a whistle in order to participate in the paddle. There are no rental boats available and no pets please. Restrooms are available at the launch site and parking is ample.

Please sign the Participation Agreement to participate in our outing at https://act.sierraclub.org/events/details?formcampaignid=701Po00000pRr671AC and plan to arrive no later than 8:15am in order to get boats unloaded and into the water by 9am.  After the paddle some of the participants often go out to eat lunch at a local cafe.

Directions:  Trout Creek's boat ramp is at 6795 Collier Road, just off SR13 South of the Shands Bridge turn off. After turning onto Collier Road, veer left 1/4 mile until you see the Community Center. The launch area is to the left of the Community Center.

Cancellation Policy:  Event will be held rain or shine but may be canceled if weather threatens safety as in the case of lightning or high winds in the forecast.  Also, if the heat index is forecast to be over 103, the outing will be canceled.  Participants are advised to check Meetup for current status before traveling to the event.  Events may need to be cancelled at short notice.  Sierra Club maintains a safe space agreement between participants, leaders, volunteers, and staff.  We want to support everyone in exploring, enjoying and protecting our natural environment.  Hateful and dangerous behavior will not be tolerated.  We do not want to deny participation in these outdoor programs and will always say no to racism, sexism and ageism.

Looking Forward to Meeting Each of You!
