Solar Observing & Hike, Philadelphia
Have you ever looked at our closest star, safely, and then enjoyed a hike in a beautiful area? This outing will be a unique opportunity to look at our sun with the help of local astronomers and their solar telescopes, discuss a bit about our sun, and then enjoy a great hike at the John Heinz National Wildlife Center. Well spend about 1 hour with the astronomers, weather permitting, and then about 1.5 hours on a 3.5 mile hike around the lake and looking for wildlife. This outing is for families and singles, but minimum age of 10 years with a parent. No pets. Come dressed for the weather and wear comfortable hiking shoes, bring your own water and sunscreen.
