Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, located in the Oakland Hills, is an 1,833 acre park containing one of the largest remaining natural groves of coast redwoods in the east bay.

This hike will begin at the Skyline gate on Skyline Blvd. We will follow the East Ridge trail taking in views of Mt Diablo in the distance and other peaks to the east. We will then descend to the stream trail via the Canyon trail and take a break for snacks at the bottom of the hill. The second half of the hike will be on the stream trail where we will hike through a beautiful redwood forest and return to our starting point.

Bring: Carry water, snacks, sun protection, good hiking shoes, and hiking poles if you use them. There is a steep downhill section midway thru the hike.

Medical Form is required as this hike is considered a back country hike.  Please follow this link, fill out, print and bring the medical form with you. This is a Sierra Club requirement for this hike.

Meet at the Skyline Gate staging area off of Skyline Blvd. . Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow adequate time to park, use the restroom, and to sign in.

Dogs allowed on leash.

Directions: Take Hwy 13. Exit Park Ave to Mountain Blvd to Snake Rd. Continue straight onto Shepherd Canyon Road to Skyline Blvd. Take a right until you come to the Skyline Gate parking area on the left side.
