San Joaquin Marsh is a hidden gem in the heart of busy Orange County. The wildlife sanctuary encompasses more than 300 acres of coastal freshwater wetlands, half of which have been restored to a natural state. The remaining acres are quality habitat and are not in need of restoration. Easy 3.5 mile walk on flat trail around the preserve and visit to Audubon House, with time to stop at birdwatching opportunities. No elevation gain. No dogs allowed at San Joaquin Marsh. This is a front country outing.
