Hike to Get Wet with the Foothills Group: Riley Moore Falls

The Foothills Group invites you to attend this hike to Riley Moore Falls near Long Creek, South Carolina. This 2.75 mile hike is generally considered an easy route down to the Chauga River, taking close to 1 hour to complete (out and back.) Going to the Falls is mostly downhill; the hike returning to the parking area can be considered moderate. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking and walking. Well behaved dogs are welcomed and are expected to be leashed. The drop of the Falls is only 12 feet, but it has an almost 100-foot span across the river with a swimming hole at its base. There are huge boulders with a white sand beach in a beautiful setting.Well plan to spend a few hours at the Falls. Please bring your water, your lunch, clothes for getting wet and a towel.
