Second Sunday Sierra-Village Creek State Park Tour of the Hancock Area

Join us for our July Second Sunday Sierra. We will be meeting at Village Creek State Park and take a tour of the Hancock Area. This part of the park has undergone habitat restoration and is not open to the general public. Please fill out a registration for each person attending. Thank you.

We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Nature Center within Village Creek State Park. 

Entry Fee to the park: Waived by the Park! THANK YOU!!
Adults $4
Children under 12 FREE


PLEASE FILL OUT A REGISTRATION FORM FOR EACH PERSON ATTENDING-THANK YOU


Plan for your visit

  • Bring a refillable container with water. We will provide water at the Nature Center, but there will be no refills along the tour. 
  • Feel free to bring a sack lunch, and we can have lunch in the Nature Center after the tour.
  • Wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
  • Bring insect repellant and sunscreen.
  • No pets, please.
  • There are restrooms in the Nature Center, but NONE along the tour.
  • This is unfettered nature. You may see any of the following along the tour, so please be prepared and keep any children close to you.  
  1. Snakes
  2. Birds
  3. Bugs of all sorts!
  4. Frogs
  5. Deer
  6. Etc.

Directions:
From Houston:   
Take I 10 East to Beaumont. Take Hwy 69/96 North to Mitchell Rd exit to Village Creek Parkway (FM 3513). Go approximately 2 1/2 miles to Alma Drive. Turn right on Alma and go 4/10 mile East to the park entrance.   
   
From Orange OR Louisiana:   
Take I 10 West to Beaumont. Take Hwy 69/96 North to Mitchell Rd exit to Village Creek Parkway (FM 3513). Go approximately 2 1/2 miles to Alma Drive. Turn right on Alma and go 4/10 mile East to the park entrance.   
   
From Kountze:   
 Take Hwy 69 South to Mitchell Rd exit to Village Creek Parkway (FM 3513). Go approx. 2 1/2 miles to Alma Drive. Turn right on Alma and go 4/10 mile East to the park entrance.   
   
From Silsbee:   
Take Hwy 96 South to East Chance Cut-off. Turn left on E. Chance Cut-off. Turn right on Village Creek Parkway (FM 3513). Go approx. 2 miles to Alma Drive. Turn left on Alma and go 4/10 mile East to the park entrance.
