O: Tue Conditined Hikers: Hondo Canyon to Saddle Peak
Strenuous approx. 11 miles, 2300 ft out & back hike up the BBT through Hondo Canyon to the Fossil Trail and on to Saddle Peak for lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Meet 8:00 am at trailhead (take Old Topanga Cyn Rd mi from Topanga Cyn Blvd; very limited parking on street). If coming from PCH, do not make a L turn into the small parking area. Rather, drive less than 1/2 mile further until you reach a straight part of the road. Safely turn around and drive back to the trailhead. This is a back country hike: medical form required. Med forms can be downloaded from URL bitly.com/scmedicalform or will be available at the trailhead.

Additional Directions: In going on a Sierra Club outing you are potentially on a trip with individuals vaccinated and unvaccinated. It is your choice to attend the outing knowing this information. The leader can not and should not reveal the status of participants vaccination or reject a participant based on their vaccination status. You are welcome to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable. If someone is experiencing any possible COVID symptoms or is sick, they should not attend the outing. The participant is responsible for contacting the leader to report a positive COVID test. Leaders will provide participants with their contact information. Leader will report as an Incident Report to the Sierra Club.
