Kayak owners: arrive at Nissequogue State Park around 12:20, pay the park entry fee of $10 (free with an Empire pass), unload and park outside the fence of the North marina.
Padding south from the open waters near the mouth of the river encounter continually narrowing waters until you reach Givens Park. On the way learn about the tall reeds, birds, and floating “debris.” Hear the history of the river and why it was channeled.
At the end at Givens Park, owners will be transported by the rental company, as a courtesy, back to Nissequogue State Park. Please generously tip the driver or the company may discontinue this service.
