For those adventurers who are in search of an exceptional and challenging day-hike that is a real bang for your buck journey, the Crafts Peak Trail in the San Bernardino National Forest is a great way to experience the beautifully scenic views of Southern California.
Experience this almost 8-mile out-and-back trail near Green Valley Lake, California. At almost 2000’ elevation gain, this hike is considered a difficult and challenging endeavor. It takes an average of 5-6 hours to complete. Dogs are welcome on leash, but must be in good shape to complete this hike.
The Crafts Peak Trail is a wonderfully scenic adventure in the San Bernardino Mountains that climbs up to a rock-strewn summit for views of the surrounding landscape. While out hiking the trail, you will steadily gain elevation through some woodland terrain, before pushing onto the summit of Crafts Peak for a sightline out to San Gorgonio.
The trail is a beautiful, woodsy trail with some amazing views of Big Bear Lake and Butler Peak to the East and Arrowhead Lake to the West. The top gets pretty steep so trekking poles are recommended.
Once at the top of Crafts Peak, you will enjoy some incredible views of the surrounding landscape, including sweeping forests, rugged peaks, and beautiful lakes.
We will meet at the dead end of Green Valley Lake Rd. At the entrance to the Green Valley Lake Campground.
