Saturday, July 19 to Sunday, July 20: Backpack from Donner Summit to Peter Grubb Hut partially along the Pacific Crest Trail (3 miles, 500 ft elevation change each way; or 1 miles, 300 ft elevation change if we can drive to Castle Pass on an unpaved road).  The hut sits on the west side of an alpine meadow, near Castle Creek.  Sand Ridge Lakes are within walking distance for a possible swim after quitting work Saturday PM.  Clean the hut, make minor repairs, collect and store firewood for next winter, and take measurements for future repairs.  Use of chain saws will depend on fire regulations.  Optional dinner and lodging Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning at the Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge are provided at no cost to volunteers.  Tools, supplies, and food at the hut are provided at no cost to volunteers.  Volunteers receive priority in reservations for hut use during winter 2025-26.  Contact the leader for advance signup.

Cost: Participants must cover transportation to/from trailhead; costs during the weekend are covered by the Club.
