Thunder Mountain Hike

This is a strenuous 9 mile hike to the top of Thunder Mountain (elevation 8,587 ft.), with 2,300 ft. elevation gain. This hike counts towards the "Peaks of the Cucamonga Wilderness Patch" for hiking the 7 tallest peaks in the Cucamonga Wilderness even though only part of Thunder Mountain is in the Cucamonga Wilderness. We will meet at the top of Mt. Baldy Road and hike on the Baldy Ski Resort service road for 4.5 miles to the top of Thunder Mountain and then back down the same way. Rain cancels.
