Birding at Randall Davey Audubon Center Santa Fe
Let's go birding at Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary! This is the home of the National Audubon Center's Education Center. Let's take an easygoing morning stroll through parts of the 135 acre sanctuary and see how many of our feathered friends we can see and identify. We'll find free guided bird walks (with 190 species such as hummingbirds, scrub-jays and mountain chickadees) alongside garden tours (hello, cholla cacti) and a short Haiku Trail walk where Christy Hengsts ceramic-etched poems hang from tree branches. At the heart of the property is a peach-colored homesteader, the spot where Davey, an American painter and who as part of the Santa Fe Art Colony, lived from the 1920s up until his death in 1964.
