O: Tue Conditioned Hikers: Sara Wan, Puerco Mtwy and Mesa Peak Mtwy
Strenuous 12 miles, 2500 gain out and back hike on the Sara Wan Trail, passing Mesa Peak on the Backbone Trail, to the rocks near the Upper Corral Cyn parking lot, or, maybe even to the picnic table. Meet at Sara Wan Trailhead (PCH 1.8 miles west of Malibu Canyon Road or 4.1 miles east of Kanan-Dume to Malibu Seafood, 25653 PCH). Park free on PCH (just west of Malibu Seafood, but not by the fire hydrant) or in lot adjacent to and just east of Malibu Seafood (fee - State Park permit not valid here).This is a Back Country hike and medical form required. Bring: Bring water, lunch, hiking shoes/boots, hat and sun screen.
Additional Directions: In going on a Sierra Club outing you are potentially on a trip with individuals vaccinated and unvaccinated. It is your choice to attend the outing knowing this information. The leader can not and should not reveal the status of participants vaccination or reject a participant based on their vaccination status. You are welcome to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable. If someone is experiencing any possible COVID symptoms or is sick, they should not attend the outing. The participant is responsible for contacting the leader to report a positive COVID test. Leaders will provide participants with their contact information. Leader will report as an Incident Report to the Sierra Club.
