Forest Bathing Sunset Hike on the Fireline Trail: Hickory Run SP

Join us on a one mile hike to a picturesque overlook of the Lehigh River and Lehigh Gorge State Park. This is one of the most beautiful spots in the park to watch a sunset. We will travel along the trail slowly and deliberately using all of our senses to completely immerse ourselves in the moment. Originating in Japan, forest bathing is the practice of taking a short, leisurely visit to a forest for health benefits. Sunset is shortly after 8pm, a flashlight may be a good idea for the way back if you do not have good low light vision.

Join us on a one mile hike to a picturesque overlook of the Lehigh River and Lehigh Gorge State Park. This is one of the most beautiful spots in the park to watch a sunset. We will travel along the trail slowly and deliberately using all of our senses to completely immerse ourselves in the moment. Originating in Japan, forest bathing is the practice of taking a short, leisurely visit to a forest for health benefits. Sunset is shortly after 8pm, a flashlight may be a good idea for the way back if you do not have good low light vision. 

This trail is an old fire access road and as such is relatively flat. There may be roots or rocks to navigate once it starts getting dark but overall this is a short and pleasant stroll through the woods.

*Note: This outing is a part of the Annual Outing being held at Hickory Run State Park. We will be leaving from the campground at 6:45PM and caravanning over to the trailhead. If you are joining from outside of the Annual Outing please note that the rest of the group should arrive around 7PM*
