This will be a strenuous out-and-back hike from Manker Flats to the historic Mt. Baldy Sierra Club Ski Hut (elevation ~8,300 ft), approximately 4.8 miles round trip with 2,037 ft. of elevation gain. The trail climbs steadily along the Baldy Bowl Trail through chaparral and pine forest, with rugged terrain, steep switchbacks, and open views of the canyon below. The hike will be approximately 3.5 to 4 hours including breaks. This hike requires strong baseline fitness and comfort with sustained elevation gain. Rain cancels.  BRING: sturdy hiking boots, 2+ liters of water, snack/lunch, sunscreen, trekking poles (recommended), signed Sierra Club medical form, and layered clothing suitable for changing mountain weather. An Adventure Pass is required for parking.  PARKING: Park at the Manker Flats Trailhead on Mt. Baldy Road. Arrive early to secure a spot.
