Trails of Babler – Pawpaws? Persimmons?
We will explore the interior trails of Babler. Our route will include parts of the Virginia Day, Woodbine, Dogwood, and Equestrian trails. We will check whether the fruits of the pawpaw and persimmon are ripe. The route includes stops at a former Civilian Conservation Corps camp, a scenic spring and the Tyler-Coleman cemetery. In the mid-19th century, the Tyler-Coleman families were prosperous farmers and slave owners along Wild Horse Creek.

Bring a snack and at least one quart of water. Wear sturdy footwear and wear layers appropriate for the weather.
